K Pop

K-pop, short for Korean pop music, is a genre of popular music originating from South Korea. It is characterized by a wide variety of audiovisual elements, such as catchy melodies, synchronized dancing, colorful outfits, and high-energy performances. K-pop is known for its catchy, upbeat music that often incorporates elements from various genres such as R&B, hip-hop, electronic, and rock.

Typically consist of a few members, usually split into sub-units to perform different roles such as singing, dancing, and rapping. K-pop is known for its highly choreographed music videos and live performances, which often feature synchronized dancing and elaborate costumes.

Has its origins in the 1990s, with the debut of the South Korean boy band Seo Taiji and Boys. However, it began to gain global popularity in the early 2010s, with groups such as BTS, BLACKPINK, and EXO leading the way. Nowadays, K-pop has become one of the most popular music genres in the world, with a large following in Asia and many other countries.

K-pop is not only music but also a cultural phenomenon, it encompasses also a wide range of elements such as fashion, beauty, and lifestyle. Also, K-pop groups are known for their strong fan culture, with dedicated fans often referred to as 'fans' or 'stans.'
